Oily Skin

Oily skin isn't always the problem.

Many patients with oily skin focus on removing oil. In reality, excess oil production is often only part of the picture. Oily skin can be associated with enlarged pores, congestion, acne breakouts and persistent shine, but aggressive cleansing and harsh products frequently make matters worse. When the skin barrier becomes disrupted, the skin may respond with increased irritation, inflammation and further oil production. The goal is to not strip the skin.

Is this guide for you?

This routine may be suitable if you regularly experience:

  • Excess facial shine

  • Enlarged or visible pores

  • Congestion and blackheads

  • Acne-prone skin

  • Skin that feels oily by midday

  • Irritation from overly aggressive skincare products

Dr Raj's Note:

"Many patients with oily skin actually damage their barrier through excessive cleansing. When skin feels oily, the temptation is to wash more frequently or use stronger products. In many cases, this creates a cycle of irritation and imbalance. A better approach is to support the skin barrier while managing oil production more gently.”

What oily skin usually needs

Oily skin often benefits from a routine focused on:

  1. Gentle cleansing

  2. Oil balance rather than oil removal

  3. Barrier support

  4. Consistent sun protection

  5. Long-term skin quality maintenance

A simple routine performed consistently is usually more effective than repeatedly changing products.

Morning Routine

Step 1: Cleanse

Rejuran Moisture Bubble Cleansing Water

Designed to remove excess oil, sunscreen and environmental debris while helping maintain the skin's natural barrier.

Step 2: Rebalance

Rejuran Rebalancing Toner

Helps support oil-water balance and prepares the skin for the rest of your skincare routine. Many patients with oily skin focus solely on reducing oil. Maintaining hydration is equally important for healthy skin function.

Step 3: Protect

Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen

Daily sunscreen remains one of the most important steps in any skincare routine. Ultraviolet exposure contributes to skin ageing, pigmentation and inflammation. Consistent protection helps maintain overall skin quality and supports the benefits of your skincare routine.

Evening Routine

Step 1: Cleanse

Rejuran Moisture Bubble Cleansing Water

Removes sunscreen, excess oil and impurities accumulated throughout the day.

Step 2: Repair

Rejuran Dual Effect Turnover Ampoule

Designed to support skin repair, skin barrier function and overall skin quality. For oily and congestion-prone skin, maintaining healthy skin turnover and barrier integrity is often more important than simply reducing oil production.

Step 3: Maintain

Rejuran Repairing Cream

Provides barrier support and hydration while helping maintain skin comfort and resilience. Many patients with oily skin avoid moisturisers altogether. In reality, appropriate moisturisation can be an important part of maintaining skin balance.
