  • Cosmenon - travel policy

    Travel

    Cost of Treatments

Under AHPRA and TGA regulations, we are not able to promote or disclose some of the non-surgical cosmetic procedures we perform at Cosmenon. This is one of the reasons why our consultations are so in-depth; it’s an opportunity for us to discuss your options, answer questions, and plan your treatments. A detailed costing of your treatment will also be provided, and all prices quoted form a part of the informed consent process.

    What does "Off-Label" Mean?

Many non-surgical cosmetic treatments involve the use of prescription medicines or medical devices in a way that is considered “off-label.” This means the product is being used in a manner that differs from the specific indication, dose, or treatment area described in the official Product Information approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).

Off-label use is common in medical practice across many specialties and may be supported by clinical experience and published evidence. When recommending any treatment, we will assess whether its use is appropriate for your individual circumstances, explain the rationale for treatment, and discuss potential risks, benefits, and alternatives.

You are encouraged to ask questions to ensure you feel fully informed before proceeding with any treatment.

    Aesthetics and Pregnancy

If you are breast feeding, pregnant, or trying to conceive, we will not offer you treatment. Unlike medications such as paracetamol, which have a robust research base and a Category A pregnancy safety rating, there is simply not enough evidence to prove that aesthetic treatments are safe in pregnancy and breast feeding.

Why choose Cosmenon for cosmetic treatments in Melbourne?

At Cosmenon, all consultations and treatments are doctor-led. Every patient undergoes a detailed medical assessment, facial analysis, and discussion of treatment goals before any procedure is considered. The clinic focuses on conservative, anatomy-guided care with an emphasis on safety, restraint, and natural-looking outcomes.

Do I need a consultation before treatment?

Yes. A consultation is required before prescription-only cosmetic procedures can be discussed or performed. This allows for a review of your medical history, suitability, treatment options, risks, expected recovery, and realistic outcomes.

Are cosmetic injectable treatments suitable for everyone?

Not always. Certain medical conditions, medications, allergies, pregnancy, breastfeeding, previous complications, or anatomical factors may affect suitability. Some patients may also be better suited to alternative treatments or referral pathways.

What happens if I’m not suitable for treatment?

Ethical patient selection is an important part of cosmetic medicine. If a treatment is unlikely to achieve an appropriate outcome, or if safety concerns exist, treatment may be deferred or declined.

    Are results immediate?

Some treatments produce earlier visible changes than others. Certain skin-focused procedures may develop progressively over weeks or months as tissue quality changes evolve.

Can injectable treatments be used for bruxism?

Prescription-only injectable treatments may be considered in selected patients following medical assessment and discussion of suitability. Bruxism is a medically recognised condition, although some patients may also notice changes in jaw shape or muscle bulk. A doctor-led consultation is important to assess symptoms, medical history, treatment suitability, risks, and alternative management options.

  • Close-up of a woman's cheek, showing smooth skin with some visible pores and mild freckles.

    What is skin rejuvenation?

Skin rejuvenation refers to treatments and skincare approaches aimed at supporting skin quality, texture, hydration, and overall skin appearance. Patients commonly seek consultation for concerns including dull skin, uneven texture, fine lines, sun damage, and age-related skin changes. Some treatments may produce early visible changes, while broader skin quality improvements often develop progressively over time. Treatment recommendations vary depending on skin condition, treatment goals, and the approach being considered. A medical consultation helps determine suitability, identify potential risks, and create an individualised treatment plan focused on safe, natural-looking outcomes.
