Rejuran Treatment Melbourne
What is Rejuran
Rejuran® is a TGA-approved injectable treatment that contains polynucleotides (PDRN), a substance used in medicine to support skin repair. It is placed just under the skin to help repair and improve overall skin quality, hydration, and texture.
It is commonly used in areas where the skin appears thin, tired, or crepey, such as around the eyes, cheeks, and neck.
It has been available overseas for more than 10 years, and Cosmenon has been prescribing it to patients since 2024. It is very safe, with no major complications reported across multiple countries and millions of treatments.
Dr Raj Menon uses advanced injection techniques to treat the under-eye area with Rejuran, which is considerably safer than HA dermal fillers.
How does it work?
Rejuran works by supporting the skin’s natural repair processes, by stimulating your own cells to produce collagen and elastin. At a cellular level, PDRN (Rejuran) acts primarily via signalling pathways that promote fibroblast proliferation and upregulates the synthesis of extracellular matrix components, including collagen and elastin. Rejuran may support cellular repair in metabolically stressed or damaged tissue.
This differs to energy devices such as lasers which cause a local trauma to the skin to achieve a response.
Over time, this may help improve skin texture, elasticity, and hydration. It may also improve the appearance of scars, pigmentation, texture and thinning skin.
It does not change facial shape or volume but instead focuses on improving the condition and quality of the skin itself.
Treatment is performed after a medical consultation to assess suitability and discuss potential risks and side effects. A series of treatments is usually recommended, and results vary between individuals.
The Process
Your consultation is typically 45 minutes, allowing time for consultation, application of skin-numbing cream, skin cleansing and the procedure itself. Following treatment, a soothing post-treatment cream will be applied.
Our Skincare Store has a range of Rejuran premium Korean skincare for your consideration, which may compliment your Rejuran injectable treatments.
Side Effects and Downtime
There can be pain associated with these treatments. It is advised you avoid alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications (including Fish Oil) for 2-3 days prior to your appointment. Taking paracetamol immediately before your appointment can be helpful, and Dr Raj will apply topical numbing creams prior to the treatment.
Following treatment, you may have lumps at the injections sites, and bruising can occur. These lumps can last for up to 3 days. Detailed aftercare information will be provided to you, and you can reach out to us 24/7 if you have any concerns.
The initial treatment is a series of three sessions, 4 weeks apart. Cosmenon offers savings when you pre-purchase your initial three treatments.
Thereafter, we recommend one treatment every six months to maintain your skin’s results.
Discuss this treatment with Dr Raj at your obligation-free consultation.
